SDP Complies with the Political Parties Act ahead of the 30th April Deadline

On Thursday 19th April 2012, the Social Democratic Party filed its compliance documents with the Registrar of Political Parties, ahead of the 30th April deadline, in line with the Political Parties Act 2011.

About Social Democratic Party

The Social Democratic Party of Kenya (SDP) is a political party registered in accordance with the Political Party’s Act of 2007. SDP is committed to uniting all Kenyans irrespective of their ethnic, class, gender and age to work for an alternative society away from the present unjust system based on the system of exploitation of person by person and towards a social democratic society that realises the freedoms, human rights and development of each and all.

Ten years into the 21st century and 47 years after independence, Kenyans are still grappling to achieve social and national liberation and thus assert their collective right to self-determination. We are still struggling to entrench participatory democracy and establish an economy centred on all our people’s needs and geared towards poverty eradication and social progress. We are still struggling for social and regional equality and to move from a poor and underdeveloped nation to that which is developing in a sustainable way.

It is upon this background that the SDP has risen to the historic challenge of spearheading the struggle to shift away from the present political, economical, social, cultural and moral arrangements that are the basis of inequality, exclusion, discrimination, exploitation, oppression and reaction towards social democratic system that will bring about a new Kenya necessary for the progress of the country and desired by the majority of the population.
